Community Home Support Services Association is the Lower Mainland's largest freestanding non-profit provider of in-home health care services to the elderly and individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities. The services maintain vulnerable people in their homes or home-like environments in the community and provide a more meaningful and cost-effective solution than institutionalization.

The mission of CHSSA is to provide a range of in-home health support services to clients and promote independent living through client–centered practices that reflect sensitivity, innovation and flexibility.

Home Support Services

CHSSA currently employs over 600 Community Health Workers who provide service in over 40 languages to approximately 2200 clients who reside in Vancouver and Burnaby.

Co-op Housing

CHSSA provides services to people with physical disabilities in two Co-operative housing units in Vancouver.

These facilities offer an independent living option for members, who are fully-involved in planning day-to-day activities including meal preparation and activity coordination.

Assisted Living

In partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and Columbus Charities Association, CHSSA has been contracted to provide assisted living and supported services to seniors at Millennium Towers. This modern 97-unit supported-living residence is located in Vancouver's West End.

Group Homes

CHSSA has contracts with Community Living BC to provide residential and day-program services in two group homes for adults with developmental disabilities located in North Vancouver and Coquitlam. Both Group Homes have been accredited by CARF.

Within these home like environments CHSSA provides daily living support services (residential care services) and social integration and activity services (day programs), which allow residents to live in the community.
